The 54-hole, par 72 tournament takes place on the Hobble Creek Golf Course (yardage: 5,920) in Springville, Utah. Teams play 36 holes today and 18 tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. MT shotgun start both days.

LAST YEAR AT THIS EVENT: Cal did not compete at the 1997 BYU Invitational as Oregon State took top honors with a 54-hole total 908, 14 shots ahead of host BYU. In the Golden Bears brief four-year history, the only other time they competed in this meet was in 1996 when they finished third out of 18 teams with a 36-hole total 649.

RECORDS FALL AT RAM FALL CLASSIC: Cal opened its fall season with its best tournament in school history. The Bears posted a 906 to finish in second place, 17 shots behind Pepperdine (889). The second-place finish marked Cal's highest finish at a major tournament as it took top honors at the three-team Blue Rock Springs Invitational last season. Individually, Pepperdine's Lisa Chang claimed the title with a 217 (70-74-73), one shot better than her teammate Jenny Glasgow and Colorado State's Michelle Thomas. Redshirt freshman Ann Walker (Strathaven, Scotland) led the Bears tying for seventh with a 224 (70-79-75), a new Cal standard for 18 and 54 holes. Recap of records:
