Giesel, McGrath Lead Pac-10 All-Academic Selections

Led by two-time selections Jonathan Giesel and Mike McGrath, California placed a total of nine players on the first and second teams of the 2004 Pac-10 All-Academic squad, the league office announced Tuesday.

Derek Joyce, Tom Sverchek and Ryan Foltz joined Giesel and McGrath on the first unit, while Aaron Rodgers, Byron Storer, Brian Tremblay and Jason Honey earned second team recognition.

In addition, seven others claimed honorable mention notice: J.D. Cafaro, L.P. Ladouceur, Tim Mixon, Jonathan Murphy, Erik Robertson, Scott Smith and Craig Stevens.
