Bowie Named First Team Academic All-Pac-10 for Basketball

BERKELEY - California senior forward Paige Bowie was named to the 2000 Academic All-Pac-10 first team for women's basketball for the second-consecutive season today. Redshirt sophomore guard Masa Radovic earned honorable mention recognition.

In addition to basketball, Bowie also excels on the Golden Bear softball team and in the classroom. A business administration major, Bowie averaged 9.4 ppg and 4.2 rpg this season for Cal and finished her career ranked 14th in scoring at Cal with 1,043 points. Several weeks ago, Bowie also earned her second-straight selection to the Academic All-District third team. Last year, the Fresno native also earned first team Academic All-Pac-10 recognition for softball. As a sophomore, she was selected second team Academic All-Pac-10 for basketball.

Radovic played the first 11 games of the year, including nine starts at the point, before being sidelined the rest of the season with a recurring back injury. The mass communications major from Belgrade, Yugoslavia, averaged 5.3 ppg, 2.1 apg and 1.6 rpg. Prior to her back problems, Radovic was named to the 1998 Pac-10 All-Freshman team.
