STANFORD, Calif. - The top-ranked California men's swimming and diving team suffered its first loss of the season in its final dual meet of the season, falling to fifth-ranked Stanford, 136-107, in the Big Meet on a cold Saturday afternoon at the Avery Aquatic Center. The Golden Bears won just four out of 13 events and wound up with a 6-1 (3-1 Pac-10) dual-meet record, while Stanford improved to 4-1 (4-1 Pac-10).

Cal won two individual swim events: Senior Henrique Barbosa won the 200-yard breaststroke in an automatic NCAA qualifying and season-best time of 1:56.40.
