Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"Obviously the second half was a good thing for us. But where is our maturity and understanding that you have to dictate? Ashley Corral made seven from the three. You have to dictate. We know that. How much more aggressive were we in the second half running the same stuff?"
"I thought we were passive on offense and defense. And then we got a couple of stops and it was like, I can get into this. I thought they all needed to get more aggressive. We didn't do anything different in the two halves. We were just more aggressive."
"I thought we did a good job in the second half and we did a good job in the first half against UCLA, except for the missed layups. We need to find a way to put it all together in one game. I liked what I saw in the second half. I know we are freshmen and sophomores. I think we are better than what we are showing."
On the play of Eliza Pierre
"No one is guarding her and we are saying go to the rim. At some point, she is going to make enough that someone is going to have to guard her. She brings so much defensively, she needs to be on the floor for us. Not every minute, but we need her out there. I like the balance of bringing Mikayla in. She gives us offense and DeNesha gets easier touches. It's a little disjointed, but that's who we are."
