BERKELEY - The Cal football team returned to Witter Rugby Field for the first time after a week off for spring break on Tuesday afternoon to begin the third week of the team's 2012 spring practice sessions. After the workout, head coach Jeff Tedford and quarterback Zach Maynard conducted interviews (Tedford|Maynard).

Cal will continue spring practice through Saturday, April 21, when fans of all ages are invited to join the Cal Family in experiencing Cal Spring Football that day. The free event is part of Cal Day festivities on campus and will take place at Edwards Stadium located adjacent to the corner of Fulton Street and Bancroft Way in Berkeley. Gates open at 10 a.m., with the team's workout slated to begin at 11 a.m. Fans will have a unique opportunity to experience the only spring workout of the year open to the general public, as well as meet Golden Bear players and coaches during an autograph session following practice.

Additional activities slated for the event are scheduled to include ...

• Interactive games and contests
• Appearances by other Cal Athletics teams and Cal Spirit Groups
• Kids activities (bounce house, poster making, fan photos in Cal football uniforms)
• More to be announced

With a large crowd expected for Cal Day, parking on the campus and in the immediate area is expected to be at a premium. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and/or take public transportation, with the Downtown Berkeley BART station just one block west of Edwards Stadium.
