BERKELEY - Cal senior LB Mike Mohamed will chat live on the Contra Costa Times BearTalk Blog this Thursday, Mar. 4 (12:30 - 1:30 p.m. PT). Cal football beat writer Jonathan Okanes of the Contra Costa Times will moderate the live chat in which Mohamed will answer selected questions from fans.
Mohamed will be a national honors candidate and one of the team's most experienced players in 2010. He has played in all 39 games over the last three seasons with 16 starts and is Cal's active career leader in tackles with 245.
Mohamed received first-team All-Pac-10 honors in 2009 for the first time in his career when he led the conference with 112 tackles, while adding 8.0 TFL and a team-high three interceptions. He was also named the Pac-10 Player of the Week twice last a year ago after his performances in victories at Arizona State (12 tackles, 11 solo) and Stanford (10 tackles, 0.5 TFL, game-clinching interception). He was also a Pac-10 All-Academic selection and earned a spot on the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic District 8 First-Team.
Cal will open its final season at Memorial Stadium in its current configuration with the first of seven home games in 2010 versus UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 4. Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UC Davis, UCLA and Washington will also visit Memorial Stadium this season.
