SAN FRANCISCO - Cal junior wide receiver Alex "Loggy" Lagemann and senior defensive tackle Michael "DJ BIG RED" Costanzo were interviewed and then performed live on CSN Bay Area's Chronicle Live television show Wednesday.
After taking part in an interactive session with Matt Steinmatz and the show's fans, sitting down for an interview with show host Greg Papa, the duo ended the show by taking to the microphone and turntables in the station's newsroom for a live rendition of "Here I Come" from the "Up All Night" rap music album.
"The show went great," said Lagemann, who was able to encourage some of the newsroom staffers to join in the fun. "Comcast and Chronicle Live made it a really fun experience, and we had a blast doing the interview and live show. We got to chat with fans, take a tour of the facilities, and get a behind the scenes look at how a production like Chronicle Live works. I can't say enough about how thankful we are for getting the chance to perform live and show people what we can do."
"Having the opportunity to participate in this interview and perform live for a large television audience was an incredible experience and something I will always remember," added Costanzo. "Loggy and I immensely appreciate everyone at Comcast for having us on the show, and we hope Cal fans enjoyed a slightly different perspective of our college experience."
Lagemann, Costanzo and their Cal teammates will return to the football field when the Golden Bears open their 2010 season at Memorial Stadium vs. UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 4. The upcoming campaign will be the final year with the current configuration of Memorial Stadium and also includes visits from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Washington during a seven-game home schedule.
