Recap |  Final Stats

Head coach Joanne Boyle

"I thought we had a great game. Oregon came out and they were hot. I don't think we did a great job defending their stuff. We really made some adjustments at halftime and I think we did a much better job in the second half getting on the boards and really taking away the three from them."

On what adjustments they made at the half

"We emphasized that not one of their shooters could be open. We would give them the drive to the basket, but we weren't going to give them an open three. I thought the kids did a nice adjustment, coming out and buying into that game plan."

On the play of Talia Caldwell

"I think defensively and offensive rebounding, on both ends of the floor, I think she was just a monster. When she plays like that and gets putbacks, goes to the free throw line, and has been defending the way she does, then it is a great boost for us.

On finding the lane more in the second half

"We saw it in the first half, but we weren't doing it. So we made the adjustment at halftime to run a couple of different sets. And then open it up for more dribble drive penetration as we weren't scoring on the block. And then the block came to be open for us and DeNesha started scoring on the block. And then we were able to do a little bit of both.

On taking on Arizona on Thursday

"We did a great job with them at home, but that was five or six games ago. They have had a lot of games and a lot of practice. They are a great team and we are going to have to bring our best game against them, especially on the road.

Sophomore guard Layshia Clarendon

"In the second half, we held them 0-for-11 from the three point line. They were 7-for-14 in the first half. That was the difference maker. We just really held them. We shut down their three point game. They are really either transition or three point, so we really tightened up on the shooters."

"We were more patient in the second half. We didn't turn the ball over. We had 10 turnovers in the whole game and only two in the second half. We didn't give them any easy buckets. We took a good shot every time. We got O-boards. It was patience and good shot selection on our part."
