BERKELEY, Calif. - The California women's golf team opens the 2008 season at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 8-9, at the Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo.
The Ptarmigan Country Club is a 6,207-yard, par-72 course. The 54-hole tournament begins with two rounds on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and the final round tees off Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
Nineteen teams will be competing in this year's event, headlined by defending champion California. The complete field includes host Colorado State, Baylor, BYU, Campbell, Colorado, Fresno State, Idaho, Long Beach State, Idaho, Louisville, Montana State, New Mexico State, San Jose State, San Francisco, Texas Tech, UTEP, Washington State and Wyoming.
Last year, Cal shot a team score of four-over 868 to claim the team title at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic over second-place Washington State by 19 strokes (887). Yocum won the individual crown at two-under 214, while Halbig placed second at 216.
