Two of the California Golden Bears incoming women's basketball recruits played in the High School All-American Games this last week. On Wednesday, March 31, Afure Jemerigbe and Lindsey Sherbert played in the McDonald's All-American game in Columbus, Ohio. They also both played in the WBCA All-American game on Saturday, April 3 in San Antonio, Texas.
Lindsey Sherbert was one of the starting five for the West Team at the McDonald's All-American Game, held at the Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Sherbert scored seven points with five rebounds in 20 minutes on the floor. Afure Jemerigbe played 17 minutes, coming off the bench for the West team. Jemerigbe scored one point (1-for-2 from the freethrow line), but she contributed six rebounds, three assists, and a steal in her time on the court. The West team defeated the East, 84-75.
The WBCA All-American game was part of the festivities in San Antonio surrounding this year's NCAA Women's Final Four, held on Saturday, April 3. Sherbert and Jemerigbe both played on the White team, which fell to the Red team, 101-81. Sherbert was one of three members of the White team to score double-digit points, putting up 11 with seven rebounds. Jemerigbe scored six points with five rebounds.
