California Defeats Arizona, 6-1

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of California women's tennis team defeated No. 34 University of Arizona today at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center in Tucson, Arizona, by a score of 6-1. The Bears improve to 8-1 with the win, while the Wildcats fall to 7-5 overall.

The Bears held the Wildcats to only one win the entire afternoon. In Cal's five singles court wins, the Bears only lost a total of two sets, with Raquel Kops-Jones, Jieun Jacobs and Catherine Lynch breezing through the afternoon in straight set victories. On the doubles side, Cal took all three matches, setting the tone for the afternoon.

Cal has a short travel day tomorrow, moving on over to Arizona State to take on the Sun Devils tomorrow at noon.
