BERKELEY, Calif.--Individual tickets for Cal home football games -- including the Bears match-up with defending national champion Nebraska on Sept. 12 in Memorial Stadium -- are now on sale, the school's Athletic Ticket Office announced today.
Cal is expecting a near-sellout for the game, as Nebraska plans to bring at least 15,000 fans to Berkeley. Tickets for the game, which is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., are $34 for reserved seats.
The Bears have not hosted a defending national champion in Memorial Stadium since 1990 when they hosted Miami.
In addition to the Nebraska contest, reserved tickets are also available for the Bears five other home games in what promises to be the best Cal home schedule in several decades. The home opener is Sept. 5 against Houston, while the Pac-10 opener is Sept. 26 vs. defending league champion Washington State. On Oct. 24, UCLA, featuring Heisman Trophy candidate Cade McNown, comes to town, and on Nov. 14, Cal will host Arizona after going into overtime with the Wildcats the last two years. The season wraps up with the 101st Big Game on Nov. 21 against Stanford. Big Game tickets are only available for purchase as part of a Cal season ticket package.
Reserved season tickets are $152 each, a 15 percent discount from buying individual tickets to each game. Family Plan, Young Alumni and Faculty/Staff packages are also available.
To order tickets or for more information, call the Cal Athletic Ticket Office at (510) 64-BEARS or at (800) GO-BEARS, or stop by the Ticket Office at 2223 Fulton Street across from Kittridge Street. All tickets will be mailed in August. After Aug. 1, fans may also purchase tickets at BASS Ticket Outlets.
