Head Coach Mike Montgomery
On the quick start by UCLA
"I thought UCLA came out with a real passion. We knew they would be fired up. This was their opportunity to go to the NCAA tournament and frankly they played a little harder than we did to start."
On attacking the basket
"They were switching. They (UCLA) have length and they ran at us which forced us off the line quite a bit. I thought we settled early for shots and in the second half we did a better job."
On adjustments made on Michael Roll
"(Michael) Roll is hard to guard. Obviously, you only have one day to prep so it's hard to go over all the stuff in repetition."
On overcoming UCLA's home-court advantage
"We knew what we were going up against and we wanted to come in and try to be aggressive. Like coach said, they came in and played really hard in the beginning. We didn't want to back down so we came in the second half and threw the first punch."
On asserting himself in the offense
"Not necessarily. I just felt in the first half we were rushing some shots a little bit and in the second half we just needed to be patient. Everything that I got was a product of us playing good defense and getting out on the break. There wasn't a need to manufacture anything. The main thing is to try and win."
