Head Coach Ben Braun

Opening statement...
"We gave away some opportunities. We gave up 22 offensive rebounds. Those are 22 opportunities we gave back to Kansas State, and they're a good team. We can't give good teams those types of second chance opportunities. I thought Bill Walker made use of those opportunities when he got second chance points. Those came at crucial times for us. We looked like we had the play sealed off and Walker comes up with the offensive rebound and in many cases he had put-backs. So I thought those plays really broke our back. At the same time, I thought it was turnovers as well. Those are other giveaways. So you add 21 turnovers and 22 offensive rebounds, that's 43 opportunities we gave back to KSU. That really hurt us. Good teams will take advantage of it and they took advantage of it very well."

On getting offensive opportunities...
"I thought we had opportunities. Again, this is a learning experience for our team. We had good post position on a number of catches. We have to come up with fouls or baskets. We can't come up empty handed. That's going to be a big lesson for our team. We worked hard for that position and when we got it we didn't take advantage of it. So that's an example of being aggressive - getting to the foul line and finishing the play. When we are getting pressured we need to attack the pressure. I thought we did that later in the second half but it was a little late."

On DeVon Hardin's foul trouble...
"It's a pattern that we have to correct. We had to go to the zone a little bit to keep Devon out of foul trouble and I thought that was a good move for us. I thought that we played the zone pretty well. We covered out and we seemed to get defensive rebounds. But it did hurt us having Devon on the bench because he is a big part of our defense. Even when he is not on the bench and he is playing conscious of fouls, he's not the same defender that he is when he is free. We need to maintain that he is on the floor and that he is in healthy playing spirits - not worrying about playing tentatively because of fouls. He's not the same player when he's tentative."

Senior Center DeVon Hardin

On getting into foul trouble...
"It changed everything I was able to do. You can't do anything from the bench. Our team responded really well. We came out in the second half and I thought we got off to a good start. We had some defensive letdowns, and didn't get (enough) offensive boards."

On getting outrebounded by K-State...
"We were going against the number one rebounder in the country, so I have to be on the floor. That's where we lost a little bit of our edge. I sat out the entire first half, so (K-State) was able to beat us on the boards, and they killed us on second chance points."

Sophomore Forward Ryan Anderson

On the intensity of the game...
"We really haven't played a team like Kansas State. They are really quick, strong and big. We really concentrated on some matchups like (Michael) Beasley. We tried to get down on him, and he did a really nice job of kicking the ball out, swinging it to other guys and getting open shots. He doesn't force things. He is a guy who can create a lot because everyone knows how good of a scorer he is."

On Bill Walker's game...
"He did a really great job today of cutting to the basket and finding open seams. We concentrated a lot on Beasley."
