CAL COMPETES AT PEG BARNARD INTERCOLLEGIATE
No. 20 California travels to the Peg Barnard Intercollegiate, Saturday-Sunday, April 13-14, as a final tuneup for the Pac-10 Championships, April 22-24. Saturday's first round begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The final round Sunday tees off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The event takes place at the Stanford Golf Course (par 72 and 6,154 yards).

PEG BARNARD INTERCOLLEGIATE FIELD
The 14-team field for the Peg Barnard Intercollegiate includes several ranked teams -- No. 11 ASU, No. 14 USC, No. 16 Washington, No. 18 UCLA, No. 20 Cal, host No. 31 Stanford and No. 39 San Jose State. Other teams competing are Long Beach State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, UNLV and Washington State.

CAL THIRD AT 2001 PEG BARNARD INTERCOLLEGIATE
The top three teams at the 2001 Peg Barnard Intercollegiate were Bay Area teams - Stanford (595), San Jose State (610) and Cal (613). Oregon's Jerilyn White was the individual winner with a 144. Cheryl Lala led the Bears, tying for ninth at 151. Cal's Ria Quiazon finished tied for 12th at 152.

CAL TAKES FIFTH AT ASU INVITE
Junior Vikki Laing fired a school-record two-under-par 214 to lead No. 20 Cal to a fifth-place finish at the highly-competitive PING/ASU Invitational Sunday at Karsten Golf Course. The Golden Bears carded a 293 in the final round to finish with a three-day score of 890. Third-ranked Tulsa took top honors after carding a tournament low 286 to finish at 871.

CAL SHOOTS 13 ROUNDS UNDER 300 IN 2001-02
Thirteen of the 22 rounds Cal has played as a team this year have produced rounds under 300. This includes six of 11 rounds this spring.

BEARS IN THE INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
Senior Anne Walker and sophomore Sarah Huarte are both ranked among the top 100 golfers by Golfweek, checking in at No. 51 and 63, respectively, in the last rankings, March 31. Laing is close to the top 100 at No. 112.

FRIENDS OF CAL WOMEN'S GOLF FUNDRAISING TOURNAMENT
Cal hosts the seventh-annual "Friends of Cal Women's Golf Tournament" Wednesday, May 1, at the Claremont Country Club in Oakland. The Cal women's golf coaching staff and athletes will participate in the event. The cost of the event is $225 and includes a cart, caddy, continental breakfast and lunch.
