BERKELEY - Junior punter Bryan Anger, junior tight end Anthony Miller and senior linebacker Mike Mohamed added to their 2010 preseason honors on Wednesday when they earned honorable mention recognition on the inaugural College Football Insiders Preseason All-American team.
Mohamed (NationalChamps.net, Playboy, Phil Steele, The Kickoff) and Anger (NationalChamps.net, Playboy, Phil Steele, The Kickoff) added to their 2010 preseason All-American honors, while Miller was named a preseason All-American for the first time in his collegiate career.
Mohamed, who led the Pac-10 with 112 tackles and earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors in 2009, is also on 2010 preseason watch lists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, The Lott Trophy and the Rotary Lombardi Award, in addition to being listed as a preseason favorite for the College Football Performance Awards Linebacker Trophy.
Anger, also a first-team All-Pac-10 choice last season, is a preseason favorite for the CFPA Punter Trophy.
Cal opens its 2010 season vs. UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 4. The upcoming campaign also includes visits from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Washington during a seven-game home schedule.
