SEATTLE - The No. 12 California men's soccer team shut out the Washington Huskies, 2-0, Friday night at Husky Soccer Field. Angel Quintero and Calen Carr scored a pair of goals to secure the win for the Golden Bears. Cal improves to 10-3-1 overall, 3-3 in the Pac-10, while Washington drops to 8-4-1, 2-3-1 in the conference.

In the second consecutive meeting between these two teams, senior defender Angel Quintero put the Bears on the board when he scored his first goal of the season in the 17th minute. Senior forward Pieter Berger served the ball across the field from the left side to Quintero, who was positioned in front of the goal and found the open net past Washington's keeper, Chris Eylander. Quintero recorded his first game-winning goal of the season, while Berger tallied his first assist for 2005.

With the clock winding down, senior forward Calen Carr ensured the win for the Bears when he scored in the 87th minute on a one-on-one break away. Carr gained possession of the ball about 20 yards past the half line, dribbled down field through Husky defenders and scored on a low shot past the left post. Carr recorded his eighth goal of the season and is tied for first in the Pac-10 with goals for the season.

Cal outshot the Huskies 19-15, with Carr recording seven shots for the Bears, while Leo Totev tallied five for Washington. Cal's senior keeper, Eric Kronberg, recorded his sixth shutout for the season while making six saves.

Cal wraps up its road trip Sunday, Oct. 23 when it faces the No. 22 Oregon State Beavers at 1 p.m. Stanford defeated Oregon State, Friday, 3-2, in overtime.
