BERKELEY - California men's tennis senior Pedro Zerbini and sophomore Carlos Cueto were named to the 2011 Pacific-10 All-Conference team on Wed., May 18. Zerbini becomes the second Golden Bear in school history to receive three career first-team selections and joins Conor Niland (2003, 2005-06) in the history books. Cueto received his first Pac-10 honor after he was named the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2009. Cueto and Zerbini's selections push Cal's total to 29 all-conference certificates, all-time.

Zerbini is the 20th-ranked singles player in the nation and has posted 18 singles wins this season with seven of those against ranked players. He was the 2009 ITA West Region Player to Watch and has lived up to his billing with an unprecedented six Pac-10 Player of the Week selections; second most, all-time. Zerbini has amassed 14 wins in dual matches this season and will make his second appearance in the NCAA singles championship later this week.

64th-ranked Cueto has posted 15 singles wins this season with nine of those in dual matches. After a successful freshman campaign with Florida, Cueto transferred to California and has been a valuable asset to the Bears as the anchor at No. 2 singles.

The 14th-seeded Bears (14-7) will face third-seeded Tennessee (24-3) in the round of 16 of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships at 9 a.m. PT on Thur., May 19, at the Taube Family Tennis Center in Stanford, Calif. Cal hosted and defeated Marist and Fresno State in the first- and second-rounds last weekend, and advanced to its first round-of-16 appearance since 2003.
