MOBILE, Ala. - California senior offensive linemen Ryan O'Callaghan and Marvin Philip are among the 100 top senior NFL draft prospects that will play in the 2006 Senior Bowl. The two All-Pac-10 first-team selections will play for the North Team in the bowl game at 1 p.m. PST this Saturday in Mobile. Philip and O'Callaghan both played major roles in the Bears' ranking among the nation's top 10 in rushing offense during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Both players finished their Cal careers with the Bears' 35-28 win over BYU in the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 22, 2005.

O'Callaghan, a 6-7, 348-pound tackle from Redding, Calif., earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors the past two seasons. He was honored with the Morris Trophy, recognizing the conference's top offensive lineman, and was also voted Cal's most valuable offensive lineman in 2005. O'Callaghan led all Cal linemen with 38 knockdown blocks and finished second with 19 pancakes in the regular season. He started 35 games in his career at Cal.

Philip is also a two-time first-team All-Pac-10 pick at center and led Cal in pancake blocks with 25 in the regular season. The 6-2, 305-pounder from Cameron Park, Calif., had seven pancake blocks and 7.5 knockdowns in the win over Stanford, which were regular season highs for a Cal offensive lineman. In 2004 and 2005, Philip was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, which honors the nation's top center. He was also voted as Cal's offensive MVP for 2005.

A pair of NFL head coaches will lead the two teams in the Senior Bowl: Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher and his staff will coach the North, while San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan and his staff will coach the South.

The Senior Bowl players had one practice session per day this week, ending Friday, capped off by the 57th annual Senior Bowl game on Saturday. ESPN will televise the Senior Bowl live from sold-out Ladd-Peebles Stadium, which seats 40,646.

ESPN and the NFL Network have also televised Senior Bowl practices this year with over 11 hours of coverage during the week. Remaining ESPN practice telecasts will air from 11:30-12:30 p.m. today through Friday. A complete TV schedule of remaining Senior Bowl practice telecasts is listed below. The NFL Network will also broadcast a Senior Bowl wrap-up after the game.

The Senior Bowl is the nation's premier pre-draft showcase, annually featuring the top senior NFL draft prospects on teams coached by the entire coaching staffs of two National Football League teams. Senior Bowl practices are also attended by over 700 NFL general managers, head coaches, scouts and other front office personnel each year.

In 2005, 10 Senior Bowlers were chosen in the first-round of the NFL Draft, and 83 players were drafted overall. Ninety-five percent of last year's Senior Bowl players made active rosters in the NFL in 2005, including the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year - running back Cadillac Williams of Tampa Bay.

Over 560 former Senior Bowl players were on active rosters in the NFL in 2005. Twenty-six former Senior Bowlers were named to rosters for this year's NFL Pro Bowl game including the league's MVP, Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander, and Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year.

The Senior Bowl is also a non-profit, charity event that, together with its charitable partner Food World, distributed over $1.2 million to charities in 2005.
