CANCUN, Mexico (AP) - Sophia Young had 12 points and 15 rebounds and No. 5 Baylor extended the nation's longest winning streak to 25 games with a 75-58 victory over California on Saturday in the Caribbean Classic.
Angela Tisdale added 16 points for the defending national champions, who haven't lost since being defeated by Texas on the road on Jan. 22.
California (4-2) kept things close through much of the first half, but were hurt by foul trouble as the game went on. Starters Ashley Walker and Jene Morris fouled out, as did freshman reserve Devanei Hampton. Baylor (5-0) capitalized by converting 20 of 31 free throw attempts.
Taking a 32-28 lead into intermission, Baylor continued to pound the ball inside, making 52 percent of its shots in the second half.
The seven-team Caribbean Classic runs through Sunday and also features North Carolina, Arizona State, Marshall, Louisville, Mississippi State, and TCU.
