Bears Who Are Head Coaches

The 2004 NCAA Division I Championship medalist, Sarah Huarte (2001-04) was a two-time All-American at Cal, capturing hoonorable mention honors as a junior before seizing first team accolades her senior season. A three-time All-Pac-10 pick, Huarte won the 2004 Honda Award as a the nation's top female collegiate golfer after leading Cal to a fourth place finish in the 2004 NCAA Division I Championship. After departing Cal, Huarte qualified for the LPGA tour in 2007, playing in eight tournaments after spending two years on the Futures Tour (2005-06).

Huarte has been the head coach for the San Francisco Dons since the 2009 season after beginning her coaching career as an assistant at UC Davis.

Ria Quiazon (2000-03) captained Cal to a No. 2 national ranking, caputred NGCA West All Region and Pac-10 seacond team accolades following her final season in Berkeley. Quiazon also won the prestigious Anna Espenschade Award presented to the top graduating female student-athlete at Cal. Quiazon competed on the Duramed Futures, Canadian Women's, West Coast Ladies Golf, Orient Masters China Golf ans Ladies Asian Golf tours. Her professional highlights include playing in the 2006 Women's World Cup in South Africa and the 2004 U.S. Women's Open.

Quiazon is in her sixth season as the head coach of the Oregon Ducks. Prior to coaching at Oregon, she was the head coach at San Francisco.

Anna Temple (2001-04) transferred to Cal from Wisconsin after her freshman season and earned all-region honors as a senior in 2004. Professionally, she was a member of the European Ladies Tour, playing in 31 events during three seasons on the tour. Her best finish came in 2007 when she finished 19th at the Nykredit Masters (Helsingor, Denmark). Temple played in three of the four events of the 2008 Ladies African Tour. She tied for first at the WPGA Masters (Johannesburg, South Africa), falling in a playoff. She finished the 2008 season ninth on the Order of Merit for the Ladies African Tour.

She spent four years at Cal as an assistant coach from 2008-12, she helping coach the Golden Bears to their first NCAA Championship berth since 2006 in 2011. In 2012, she helped coach the squad to victories at both the Peg Barnard Invitational and the Julie Inkster Spartan Invitational and was a member of Nancy McDaniel's coaching staff when the team won the 2012 Pac-12 Team Championship. In August 2012, Temple was named the head coach of the UC Davis Aggies program.

Anne Walker (1998-02) was a member of the Cal golf family for over ten years as a player and an assistant coach. As a player, she was Cal's first All-Pac-10 honoree. She also was a three-time first team Pac-10 All-Academic choice and an Adacemic All-District VIII pick as a senior. Her career culminated by being awarded the Pac-10 Medal of Honor as the Bears' top graduating female student-athlete.

As an assistant coach at Cal, she helped lead the Bears to compete in six NCAA Regionals and four NCAA Championships while also winning the 2003 Pac-10 Team Championship. From Cal, Walker spent four seasons as the head coach at UC Davis before making her way to Stanford in 2012.
