BERKELEY - Cal TB Jahvid Best will chat live on ESPN.com's SportsNation! this Wednesday. Best will answer questions from college football fans across the nation during the session beginning at 12:30 p.m. PT.
Best has racked up 775 rushing yards on 114 carries (6.8 ypr) over the Golden Bears' first seven games in 2009 to rank third in the Pac-10 and No. 13 nationally in rushing. He is also tied for third in the nation in scoring with his average of 12.0 points per game on 14 touchdowns (11 rushing, 3 receiving) with his 11 scores on the ground four shy of the school-record 15 he equaled in 2008. His 2009 campaign has been highlighted by five 100-yard games and a modern-era school-record five rushing touchdowns at Minnesota.
Best is among Cal's all-time leaders in rushing touchdowns (28, No. 4), 100-yard rushing games (13, No. 6), all-purpose running yardage (3,896, No. 6), rushing yardage (2,576, No. 8) and scoring (198, No. 9).
Cal (5-2, 2-2 Pac-10) will travel to Arizona State (4-3, 2-2 Pac-10) for a game at Sun Devil Stadium to be televised by ABC this Saturday, Oct. 31 (12:30 p.m. PT). The Golden Bears return home to Memorial Stadium to face Oregon State on Saturday, Nov. 7 (4:00 p.m. PT). The contest will be nationally televised by Fox Sports Net and air locally on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
The team's final home outing of the season will be against Arizona on Saturday, Nov. 14, before the Golden Bears finish the regular season with road games at Stanford (Saturday, Nov. 21) and a Comcast SportsNet California contest at Washington (Saturday, Dec. 5, 3:30 p.m. PT). Start times and television information for the Arizona and Stanford games will be announced at a later date.
