Head coach Joanne Boyle
"We'll take the win. We didn't have a good weekend up this way a couple of weeks ago. We've really been doing a good job taking care of business at home. The team was really excited to get back on the road and prove they can win on the road. And they did the little things that got us a win tonight."
"We knew if we weren't going to be shooting the ball well, it was crucial that we got second chance points. I think Talia and DeNesha did a great job. And Layshia did, too. She got on the boards a lot. Our posts got double doubles. They really did the work down there and got the second chance points. That is really what won the game for us."
On looking ahead to Oregon on Saturday
"It will be a track meet, up and down. They will shoot in the first six to eight seconds of the shot clock. We have to be able to stop ball. Really have to slow them down and make them play a quarter-court game. They really want to keep it uptempo. We will have to get a lot of rest here in the next day and half and then do what we need to do."
Sophomore forward Talia Caldwell
On battling down low
"It was a big focus because Greer is such a good rebounder. It was a big focal point, so it helped and which is why we did well because we focused on it for the past four days."
On the importance of offensive rebounds
"It is just easy offense. And it is so demoralizing, too. I know when we are playing a team and they keep getting o-board after o-board, we are just like "man"! It doesn't matter how much defense you play, if they get that o-board, it is just tough. If you are making them play more defense, you can get them in foul trouble, too, and it just fills out the stat sheet really well when you get o-boards."
