SEATTLE, Wash. - The No. 17 California men's soccer team won its fourth consecutive game as the Golden Bears defeated Washington, 1-0, Friday night at Husky Soccer Stadium. The Bears scored the lone goal of the game in the 69th minute. Cal improved to 11-4-1, 6-2, while the Huskies fell to 7-7-2, 2-4-1.

Freshman Andrew Wiedeman scored the game-winning goal with an assist from senior Javier Ayala-Hil. After Ayala-Hil's shot was deflected, Wiedeman fired a shot from 10 yards out to score the goal. Wiedeman recorded his team-leading sixth goal of the season, while Ayala-Hil notched his team-best fifth assist of the campaign.

Sophomore keeper Stefan Frei made three saves en route to his eighth shoutout of the year. Senior Andrew Jacobson and junior Tyler Barry each had a shot on goal.

The Bears return to action at Oregon State Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Paul Lorenz Field.
