Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"I thought we had a great game, a very hard-fought game that was very physical at times. Obviously I am disappointed with the outcome. Coming from where we have been, playing a big team like Baylor, with our kids so young, I thought we made some good adjustments. I thought we still had too many gaps, and great teams like Ohio State will take advantage of that. About the 15-16 minute mark, we had a stretch where we had five turnovers in a row and they really capitalized like they do and they put you in a hole and then we started to scramble. I think that was a big piece of the game for us at that moment."
"I think the stretch that hurt us the most was that turnover stretch. Mentally, that makes you seem more tired. If we don't have (that stretch), we have a little more pep in our step. Obviously we made some changes in the rotation at that point. With our young players, we need to learn how to mentally fight through that stuff."
"I think our young players did a good job with the game plan and executing it. With a game like this, though, you have to play close to perfect, and we weren't quite there."
On trying to defend against Jantel Lavender
"I thought Talia (Caldwell) did a great job. She was on (Lavender) most of the night. Lavender likes the one shoulder more than the other. Talia did a great job with scouting report defense. We probably should have doubled a little more, but it's hard to double a jump shot."
Senior Guard Alexis Gray-Lawson
"We've been practicing a lot on ball screens. My game has always been about coming off ball screens and how to read that. They were going under, so that just made a big gap for me and I just went with it."
