All-Pac-12 Release | Pac-12 All-Academic Release

BERKELEY - The Pac-12 Conference honored the California men's soccer for its performances both on and off the pitch this season, selecting seven Golden Bears for its All-Pac-12 teams and nine Bears for its All-Academic Teams, the conference announced this week. Senior co-captain Tony Salciccia earned berths on both teams.

Salciccia garnered an All-Pac-12 First-Team selection, while junior defender Ryan Neil, sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Peach and sophomore midfielder Seth Casiple collected second-team placement. Senior defender Ted Jones, sophomore defender Christian Dean and sophomore forward Stefano Bonomo earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention.

Cal's midfield general, Salciccia led the Bears in points (16), tied for first in goals (5) and ranked second in assists (6); he set career highs in each of those categories. Salciccia, who started all 18 matches, also ranked second in game-winning goals (2) and converted all three of Cal's penalty kicks in 2012, his final season in Berkeley.

Casiple led the Bears in assists with a career-high seven and ranked second on the team with a career-high 11 points. Peach, in his first season as the full-time starter, posted a 1.40 goals-against average and a .748 save percentage in 18 starts. A converted midfielder, Neil collected a career-high five assists playing at right back.

Sophomore midfielder Omid Jalali (3.90 grade-point average, undeclared major) earned a Pac-12 All-Academic First-Team spot, with Salciccia (3.34, social welfare) taking a spot on the second team. The following Bears earned honorable mention: Jones; juniors Alec Sundly and Kyle Marsh; and sophomores Bonomo, Casiple, Connor Hallisey and Peach.

To be eligible for selection to the conference's academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Cal ended its season with an 8-7-3 overall record (3-5-2/fourth place in the Pac-12).
