Senior catcher Megumi Takasaki's three-run homer in the top of the seventh lifted the Bears to a 10-6 victory in game 1 and sophomore pitcher Nicole DiSalvio hurled a four-hit 3-0 shutout in the game 2, as the California softball team swept a Pacific-10 Conference doubleheader from Oregon on Howe Field, Sunday.

The Golden Bears, who have now won six straight and seven of their last eight, improved to 42-19 (11-14 Pac-10) with the wins, while the Ducks fell to 39-25 (10-16 Pac-10).

DiSalvio, who picked up a win and a save at Oregon State on Saturday, faced only 25 batters in recording her 15th victory of the season in game 2. She also did not allow a run over her final 10 innings of the weekend.

Takasaki went 4-for-7 against the Ducks with 4 RBI and gave Cal the only run it would need in the night cap with a clutch two-out double in the fourth inning that drove home Paige Bowie. Candace Harper iced the game for the Bears in the final frame with a sharp single to center that drove home pinch runners Valerie Nicklas and Pauline Duenas.

In the opener, Oregon jumped on the Bears early, scoring three runs in the second and sending Cal's game 1 starter, Jocelyn Forest, to the bench. Holly Yost pitched the final five innings, earning her eighth win of the year.

The Bears got themselves back in the game, scoring two in the third and two in the fourth for their first lead of the contest. However, it didn't last long as the Ducks tallied twice in the bottom half of the fourth to go back on top, 5-4.

Yost then got into a groove on the mound, retiring Oregon in order in the fifth and sixth. She also helped her own cause with a sac fly that scored Maiko Bristow to knot things at 5-5 in the fifth. Amber Phillips then sent a frozen rope over the right field wall for her second dinger of the weekend to put Cal back on top, 6-5, in the sixth before Takasaki's homer in the seventh put things out of reach.

Cal returns to action on Saturday, May 15, when the Bears host Stanford in their regular season doubleheader finale at 1:00 p.m. on Levine-Fricke Field.
