The California women's golf team shot a 298 in the second round of the Oregon State Invitational Tuesday at Trysting Tree Golf Course to fall from its spot atop the leader board after the opening round. The Bears' school record 36-hole total of 584 puts them seven strokes behind Arizona (577), which carded a 288 Tuesday.

Rounding out the top five in the 19-team tournament with one round remaining is Stanford (591), Brigham Young (595) and Washington (596).

Arizona's Lorena Ochoa and Stanford's Kim Kouwabunpat lead the individual competition with a 139. Long Beach State's Marie Louise Juul is two strokes back at 141. Cal sophomore Sarah Huarte is three strokes off the pace at 142. In duplicating her first round score of 71, Huarte broke senior Anne Walker's school record of 143 for 36 holes.

Also in the top 10 for the Bears are Walker and junior Ria Quiazon, who are tied for eighth at 146.
