USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships Draws and Results

MORAGA, Calif. - While some matches were rained out on Monday, Golden Bears played in five doubles matches that day at the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships held at the Moraga Country Club and the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex at Saint Mary's. California's seventh-seeded doubles team of senior Riki McLachlan and junior Ben McLachlan won its semifinal to move into Tuesday's final.

The brothers defeated Washington's eighth-seeded duo of Emmett Egger and Max Manthou, 8-6, in the semifinal, after controlling UW's ninth-seeded Jeff Hawke and Viktor Farkas, 8-1, in the quarterfinal round.

The fifth-seeded Cal pair of junior Campbell Johnson and freshman Mads Engsted also reached the semifinals, but they fell to sixth-seeded Jesse Kiuru and Joakim Norstrom of Saint Mary's, 8-6. Johnson-Engsted beat Washington's third-ranked pair of Kyle McMorrow-Marton Bots, 9-8 (5), in the quarterfinals.

Also in the doubles quarterfinals, Cal sophomores Gregory Bayane and Andrew Scholnick lost to UW's Egger and Manthou, 8-5.
