Former Cal Setter Leads Americans To Silver Medal

MEXICO CITY, Mexico – The United States Women’s National Volleyball Team, led by former Cal setter Carli Lloyd, fell to the Dominican Republic 25-18, 25-18, 17-25, 25-21 on Thursday night in the Gold Medal match of the Pan-American Cup.

The Americans were attempting to become the first country in history to win three straight Pan-Am Cup championships. Lloyd, the AVCA National Player of the Year in 2010 who was named to three All-America teams and led Cal to two Final Four appearances, was on the gold-medal winning team in 2012.

Lloyd registered 18 running sets and two kills in the loss.
