BERKELEY – Fans and media are invited to join the California women’s basketball team to an NCAA Selection Show Watch Party in the Field Club at Kabam Field at Memorial Stadium Monday (March 17) afternoon.
Doors will open at 3 p.m. with ESPN televising the Selection Show at 4 p.m. Fans can enter Memorial Stadium through Gate 2 and walk over to the Plaza to enter the Field Club. Members of the Cal Athletics staff will also be onsite to help direct guests.
There will be opportunities to register for prizes and mingle with the Golden Bears at the event.
California (21-9) is in position to earn its third consecutive NCAA Tournament bid after finishing in the top two of the Pac-12 for a record third consecutive season. The Bears have been ranked in the AP and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Top 25 polls the entire season and have 10 wins over RPI Top 100 teams.
The Bears, a 2013 NCAA Final Four participant, won seven of their last eight regular season games – the lone loss in that span coming with point guard and All-American candidate Brittany Boyd sitting out due to injury. Under third-year head coach Lindsay Gottlieb, California continued to push itself and played four regular season games against RPI Top 4 teams this season, the most of any team in the country.
