BERKELEY – California junior All-American candidates Brittany Boyd and Reshanda Gray picked up more All-Conference honors Wednesday as the conference office announced that the duo have been named All-Pac-12 selections by the media.

Boyd and Gray, who were both named First Team All-Pac-12 by the coaches yesterday, continue to shine nationally for the Golden Bears with Boyd earning her second consecutive All-Pac-12 selection by the media and Gray picking up her first. Boyd was also selected to the five-member All-Defensive Team.

The duo were also previously voted by the media as All-Freshman Team members in the 2011-12 season.

Boyd, a candidate for the Wade Trophy, Wooden Award, Dawn Staley Award and Nancy Lieberman Award this season, is averaging 14.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.9 steals per game for the Golden Bears. She leads the Pac-12 in steals and assists while ranking 12th in the NCAA in steals per game. In her last game, Boyd registered just the second triple-double in California history and the 18th in Pac-12 history when she put up 13 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists against Washington State. She concludes the regular season as one of just three players in the country averaging at least 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Gray leads the team with her 17.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and has become a double-double machine with her 11 double-doubles in 18 Pac-12 games this season. Gray, the first Golden Bear to average at least 17 points per game in the regular season since Alexis Gray-Lawson’s 18 points per contest in the 2009-10 season, ranks fifth in the NCAA with her .604 field goal percentage. Her 43 points scored against Washington State are the most by a Pac-12 player this season as well as the most by a post player in the country this season.

California begins Pac-12 Tournament play this weekend at KeyArena in Seattle. The Bears will take on either Washington State or Oregon in Friday’s quarterfinal at 6 p.m.
