BERKELEY – California junior Reshanda Gray has been named the Pac-12 Player of the Week after her milestone weekend that led the Bears to a weekend sweep over Washington and Washington State.

Gray hit a major milestone on the weekend by becoming the 26th Golden Bear to surpass the 1,000-point career mark, a milestone she hit in Sunday’s win at WSU. For the weekend, Gray averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds while shooting .533 from the field after pulling down double-doubles in both games this weekend and also scored at least 20 points in both games. Against the Huskies, Gray scored 20 points with 12 rebounds while matching her career-high with two assists. With the Bears leading 65-64, Gray hit the game-winning free throw and knocked down the last field goal of the game for either team to put the Bears ahead, 68-65. Against the Cougars, Gray scored 24 points with 10 rebounds and added a career-high two steals in her milestone game.

It is Gray’s first career player of the week honor and Cal’s 40th all-time.

California returns home next weekend to take on Arizona Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Krista Blunk and Mary Murphy will handle the call on the Pac-12 Networks.
