PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – All three former Cal men’s golfers playing at the AT&T Pebble Beach are well below the projected cut to qualify for Sunday’s fourth and final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. James Hahn (69-72-81 – 222, +7) started Saturday’s round in 28th place but fell nearly 100 spots into a tie for 122nd after his 10-over par 81 at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club. Charlie Wi (71-73-80 – 224, +9) and Max Homa (73-76-76 – 225, +10) are three and four shots behind Hahn in ties for 128th and 130th.

Third-round action was suspended due to darkness with 12 players still on the course and a projected cut of even-par.

Jimmy Walker (66-69-67 – 202, -13) will start Sunday’s action with a six-stroke advantage on Tim Wilkinson (67-72-69 – 208, -7) and Hunter Mahan (68-68-72 – 208, -7)

Hahn was able to put together four straight pars before his troubles began with a bogey on the par-four fifth. He would also bogey the par-five sixth and then double bogey the par-three seventh. After a par on the par-four eighth he hit a skid of five straight bogeys on the par-three ninth, par-five 10th, par-three 11th, par-five 12th and par-four 13th. He would add a final bogey on the par-four 17th.

Wi started on the 10th tee at Pebble Beach and made double bogey on the par-four hole to start his eight-over round of 80. He later bogeyed the par-four 13th, 16th and eighth holes, as well as the par-three 17th, fifth and seventh.

Homa managed the only birdies of the day from the Cal trio on the par-three eighth and par-five 16th holes at Monterey Peninsula Country Club but also started his round of five-over 76 with a bogey on the par-four first. He also had bogeys on both the par-five 12th and par-four 15th, as well as double bogeys on the par-five sixth and par-four 13th.

On the amateur leaderboard Wi and his partner Frank Quattrone are tied for 117th (67-66-76 – 209, -6) after 54 holes, while Homa and his playing partner Jay Ireland are tied for 133rd (69-71-72 – 212, -3), and Hahn and his playing partner Joe Kernan are tied for 138th (68-69-77 – 214, -1).
