2007: Became a significant part of the defense, playing in all 13 games with 10 starts at tackle ... totaled 22 stops and two sacks ... ranked fourth on the team with five tackles for losses ... had three tackles and first career sack against Louisiana Tech ... turned in a career performance against Arizona, recording six tackles, including three for losses ... also had a sack in the Big Game against Stanford ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors.

2006: Developed into a key reserve on the Golden Bear defensive line, playing in all 13 games, including earning his first career start against Minnesota ... registered five tackles (one solo) on the season, including two against Tennessee.

2005: Redshirt.

High School: Played defensive line, tight end and quarterback ... named him the No. 41 tight end in the country and No. 12 overall player in the state of Arizona, while SuperPrep rated him the No. 6 player in the state as a member of its All-Far West team ... also an all-region selection by PrepStar ... passed for 916 yards with 13 touchdowns and just three interceptions, while catching 20 passes for 469 yards (23.5 ypc) and six TDs on offense ... defensively, corralled five sacks and 29 tackles ... named to the Southern Arizona all-star first team by the Tucson Citizen ... other 2004 honors included being named all-state tight end by the Arizona Coaches Association and U.S. Army All-American Bowl invitee ... as a junior in 2003, played half the season at quarterback and half the year at defensive line, where he collected 44 tackles and 11 sacks, earning first team all-league and second team all-region honors ... also played three years of varsity ice hockey, advancing to the state playoffs as an all-star selection in both 2002 and 2003.
