Track Earns 14 Pac-12 All-Academic Honors
BERKELEY --- The Pac-12 Conference announced its track and field All-Academic teams today and 14 members of the California men's and women's programs have been selected to their respective Honorable Mention lists.
Cal was represented on the conference's lists by junior Trent Brendel, sophomore Steve Correa, senior Isaac Dan, senior Ben Greenwald, sophomore Max Leach, junior Josh Lewis, senior Sullivan Parker, and senior Andrew Scholnick on the men's team and junior Christine Canning, sophomore Asha Culhane, sophomore Sydney Gray, sophomore Natalie Herberg, sophomore Adrienne Hinkston, and sophomore Ginika Iwuchukwu on the women's team.
The total exceeds the 12 honorees the programs earned in 2015 and matches its haul from the MPSF indoor season.
Each student-athlete of the Pac All-Academic teams to the academic team, earned a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and competed as a starter or significant contributor.
Four members of the Cal track and field program are wrapping up the season this week at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. Sophomores Isabella Marten and Ashley Anderson will compete in the triple jump on Saturday afternoon.
