BERKELEY – Maddie Haynes, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter from Rocklin, Calif. and member of the U.S. Youth National Team program, has signed a Financial Aid Agreement and will enroll at Cal for the 2016 spring semester, head coach Rich Feller announced Friday.

Haynes was a member of the U.S. Youth National Team that won the Silver Medal at the NORCECA Girls Youth Continental Championship last year. She has also been a member of the USA Volleyball A1 High Performance Team.

“We are very excited to add Maddie to our roster,” Feller said. “She's a six-rotation outside hitter that has size and experience.”

Haynes was named the Sierra Foothill League Most Valuable Player last season after leading Rocklin High School to its second consecutive Sac-Joaquin Section Title. She is also ranked as the No. 83 “Senior Ace” in the country, according to PrepVolleyball.com.

Since she is enrolling early at Cal, Haynes will be eligible to begin working out with the Bears immediately and participate in spring practice.
