SIX AND COUNTING...
The Golden Bears are up to six weekly honors in their first season in the America East conference.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kori Griswold is the most recent Bear to earn the conference's weekly nod, claiming Defensive Player of the Week honors for two straight weeks. Griswold earned her back-to-back honors after leading Cal to three consecutive shutouts, first against UC Davis and then against UMass Lowell and Pacific the following weekend.
Just two weeks prior to the Davis win, junior Sydney Earle and Griswold were selected for their standout performances against No. 6 Stanford. Earle earned the Player of the Week nod for the second time this season after scoring a golden goal to help Cal to its first win over Stanford since 2011, and Griswold notched seven saves in the victory, including five in the second half and overtime.
Cal claimed its first-ever America East weekly honors after Earle and freshman Melina Moore's big week 2 performances. Earle was named the Player of the Week following a conference-best six-point performance in three games over Labor Day Weekend, including a career-high four points off a goal and two assists against Saint Louis. Moore scored two goals against the Billikens to earn Rookie of the Week honors.
