Ray Stewart Concludes Action at Pan Am Games

BERKELEY – California alum Ray Stewart concluded his first appearance at the Pan American Games by running 13.62 in the 110-meter hurdles in Toronto.

Running in lane five in the second of three heats, Stewart finished fourth, missing out on a berth in the finals by less than one-tenth of a second. The former Golden Bear placed 11th overall and did not advance but will be aware of which aspects to continue to train in after posting the best reaction time of the day at 0.116.

Stewart will continue to work towards a goal of obtaining an Olympic berth next year after placing seventh at the 2015 U.S. Championships with a 13.34 in the 110-meter hurdles last month. He was the 2011 Pac-10 and 2013 Pac-12 champion in his three seasons at Cal.
