Cal-Oregon State Postgame Notes
With today's 45-31 California win, the Golden Bears picked up their first victory over Oregon State since 2011 and their first win in Corvallis since 2006. Cal also earned its third road win of the season, the first time the Bears have three road wins since 2009 when they were 4-2 outside of Berkeley.
Cal finished with a season-high 269 rushing yards, topping the total of 255 yards vs. Sacramento State. The Bears also surpassed 500 yards of total offense for the sixth time this season with 546 yards.
Daniel Lasco finished with a career-high 188 rushing yards on 30 carries. He became the first Cal runner to accumulate at least 150 yards on the ground since C.J. Anderson vs. Washington in 2012 and his total was the highest for a Bear since Isi Sofele had 190 vs. Oregon State in 2011. Lasco is also the first Cal player to have 30 rushes and 3 rushing TDs in the same game since Shane Vereen vs. Stanford in 2009 (30 rushes, 3 TDs).
Lasco picked up his eighth, ninth and 10th rushing touchdowns of the season – giving him 13 his career. He has now scored a touchdown in the last eight consecutive games (7 rushing, 1 receiving). With his 208 total yards tonight, Lasco became the first Cal player since Keenan Allen (1,398) and Isi Sofele (1,355) in 2011 to record 1,000 combined rushing and receiving yards in a season. Lasco ended the night with 1,120 combined yards on the season.
Jared Goff ended the game 24-for-47 for 277 yards and 1 touchdown. Goff posted his 15th 250-yard passing performance of his career, which is a school record. Now with 27 touchdown passes this season, he ranks third on the school's single-season list. Kyle Boller is second with 28 and Pat Barnes is first with 31. Goff's 45 career passing touchdowns rank seventh on the career list. Dave Barr is sixth with 48.
Goff connected with Chris Harper for a 10-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. It was Harper's fifth receiving TD this season and the 12th of his career.
Stephen Anderson was Cal's leading receiver on the day with 9 catches for 117 yards. The 9 catches were a personal best. He caught each of Jared Goff's first five completions to start the game.
James Langford made 3 of his 4 field goal attempts to establish a new career high for field goals made. Langford connected on fiels goals oof 41, 26 and a career-long equaling 47 yards in the first, second and fourth quarters after having missed on a 50-yard attempt in the first quarter that was the longest attempt of his career.
For the fourth time this year, Cal held an opponent scoreless in the first quarter (also Northwestern, Sacramento State, Arizona). The Bears led, 3-0, after the opening period.
Bryce Treggs has caught a reception in 29 of the last 30 games that he has played in and his last 23 contests in a row. He caught 3 passes for 20 yards on the day.
Vic Enwere scored for the second straight game, giving him two career TDs. He had 6 carries for 37 yards on the night.
Cal's 181 first-half team rushing yards were a season best. The Bears had 152 in the first half vs. Sacramento State. Cal's 277 passing yards on the night and 269 rushing yards marked the second time this season that Cal had more than 200 yards passing and rushing (Sacramento State).
