“We scored in the second half and put together some great drives, scoring 17 points. We had a hard time getting a stop defensively though, one of our go to guys hurt himself during pregame warm up which didn’t help.”

“Well you know you have to get over it. Get over it and look forward to down the stretch. Football games are 60 minutes for a reason.”

“I used to use the two-kicker thing at Kentucky in 1997. It’s tricky and gets guys to bite most of the time.”
On what he told the guys in the locker room after the loss
“Just hang in there, get over it and learn from it. We’re sorry we didn’t find a way to win the ball game tonight, but I told them it won’t ever happen again. It is part of growing up, and getting a program turned around.”

“It seems like it is someone different making a big play for us each week, which is what we need. I’ve always known that Arizona is a fast, big-playmaking team, so it was hard to feel comfortable with a lead at all throughout this game.”

On the game
"I don't think I've ever been in a game like that. It's so painful, but we have to get through it. I am proud of all the guys on how we played throughout the game. Coach [Sonny] Dykes told us that we played really well throughout the whole game. We played tough for 59 minutes and 56 seconds and unfortunately it was not enough. They made halftime adjustments and nothing really changed with us. We had a little bit more pressure, but it shouldn't have affected us as much as it probably did."

On the game
"It is very difficult. We fought hard all game, but we just couldn't come up with the stops that we needed to. We got tired here and there, but we just didn't make the plays whether we were tired or just missed an assignment. It's the game of football, and especially being in the Pac-12 you play good teams. The locker room is pretty silent because this is difficult. Win or lose, these games last 24 hours and then it's on to the next one. We will look this game over tomorrow and put it behind us and look forward to next week. We just have to learn to play for four quarters and so far this season is what's haunting us most thus far."
