BERKELEY – Cal’s weekly radio show – Inside the Locker Room presented by Weatherford BMW – returns to the airwaves this year with the first episode set for Monday from 7-8 p.m. on KGO Radio (810 AM). And as a special treat this season, the program will be broadcast live from four East Bay locations, giving fans the opportunity to meet and listen to many of the guests in person.
The year’s first program, held at Barbacoa at Theater Square in Orinda, will feature football coach Sonny Dykes, defensive coordinator Art Kaufman, junior wide receiver Bryce Treggs, and Deputy Director of Athletics for External Relations Phil Esten.
Hosted by Todd McKim, Inside the Locker Room will include live interviews with Golden Bear coaches, student-athletes, alumni and staff each week. In addition to Barbacoa, the show will air from the Lafayette Park Hotel, the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in the Berkeley Marina, and at Forge Pizza in Jack London Square (see schedule below). Fans are invited to attend each show in person or listen on Cal’s flagship station, KGO Radio (810 AM).
On football gamedays, Joe Starkey returns for his 41st season calling play-by-play for the Golden Bear broadcast team. He will be joined in the booth again by former Cal quarterback Mike Pawlawski, with McKim providing reports from the sidelines.
Each gameday will start with the Toyota Tailgate show 60 minutes before kickoff. The program will air live from Lisa and Douglas Goldman Plaza just outside California Memorial Stadium for all home dates. Hosts McKim and Pawlawski will preview the day’s game, which includes interviews and analysis of the Bears and their opponent.
Following the action on the field, Postgame at the Paragon is a 60-minute show hosted by Lee Grosscup and Dan Dibley from the Paragon Restaurant & Bar inside The Claremont Hotel Club & Spa. It features reaction from the Cal locker room followed by a breakdown of the contest.
