Forrest joins Cal as a true freshman in 2014 after leading his team into the Southern Section Pac 5 championship game during each of his final two prep seasons in 2012 and 2013, taking over as the starter late in his junior campaign and then spending his entire senior season as the starter. He was ranked as high as the nation’s No. 32 pocket passer quarterback in the 2014 recruiting class by ESPN. Forrest shares the No. 3 spot on the 2014 preseason depth chart with fellow true freshman quarterback Luke Rubenzer.

► Saw limited action as a 2012 junior and finished the season with 1,329 passing yards and 16 touchdowns against three interceptions, while completing 100-of-150 passes (67%) and adding 195 yards and one touchdown on 87 carries
► Became the team’s starter late in his 2012 junior season and led his squad to the Southern Section Pac 5 Division playoffs against Long Beach Poly before finishing the season 11-3 overall, ranked eighth in California and 31st nationally
