A New, Dynamic Approach To

'Inside The Lair' New Home To Compelling Content
By Cal Athletics on Mon, August 04, 2014

The 2014-15 athletic season is upon us, with football, women’s soccer and volleyball all opening fall camp this week. And with the onset of our athletic season comes a new and dynamic way of reporting about Cal Athletics here on

Starting this fall, we will be providing Cal fans with more compelling content, using video, photos and the written word to tell the Cal story. There will be weekly features focusing on the Cal student-athlete – what our Bears are doing in the classroom and community to make an impact. Fans will get to know head coaches and assistants with a series of Q&As. We will check in with former Cal student-athletes to see what is going on with their lives after Berkeley. There will be features on the fans – what Cal Athletics means to them and how they support their favorite sports teams.

Other planned content includes profiles on athletic department support staff, features about non-student-athletes on campus and how they connect to Cal Athletics, and behind-the-scenes packages on various team’s road trips.

Most featured content will be posted to “Inside The Lair,” a one-stop shop for the most compelling features and news items about Cal Athletics. “Inside The Lair”’ replaces the Cal Bear Blog and will be linked to the homepage.

What will happen to all the nuts and bolts so many fans come to to find? Absolutely nothing. Recaps, statistics, schedules, rosters, ticket information and more will still all be found on the site. Each team will still have its own page with its own unique content. We are just bringing you more, and doing so in a more compelling, smarter way.

So take some time to browse our site in the coming days. Look for a feature about the first day of football training camp tonight on “Inside The Lair.” Then stay tuned for a regular dose of compelling content on
