BERKELEY -- No. 8 Washington used three homers to top Cal, 9-1, and win the series Friday afternoon at Levine-Fricke Field. Cal drops to 23-28 overall and 4-17 in Pac-12 play with the loss.

Washington put four runs on the board at the top of the third, and the Huskies never looked back. The inning started with a single up the middle by Kelli Suguro, who advanced to second and third on a sac bunt followed by a ground out. At the top of the order, Victoria Hayward singled down the left line to score Suguro. Hooch Fagaly homered to center field with Hayward on base, and Kaitlin Inglesby made it back-to-back homers with her own long ball in the next at bat.

At the top of the fourth, Whitney Jones reached on a fielding error before an RBI single by Bridget Raftery plated her.

Another Cal error at the top of the fifth brought two Huskies across. Inglesby and Kylee Lahners walked to start their trip around the diamond before finishing it on an error in the outfield during Ali Aguilar's at bat.

Senior Ashley Decker saved Cal from the shut out with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to score freshman Kylie Reed. Reed led off for the Bears with an infield single before junior Danielle Henderson walked and sophomore Vanessa Alvarez singled to center field ahead of Decker.

The top of the seventh brought Washington's final two runs home when Inglesby singled and Lahners homered to clear the diamond.

Reed led the Bears after going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Alvarez (1-for-2) and Decker (1-for-2, 1 RBI) also had hits.

The Huskies finished the day with nine hits off of three Cal pitchers. Freshman Stephanie Trzcinski (8-14) suffered the loss for 2.2 innings with four hits and four runs. Freshman Katie Sutherland-Finch walked three and allowed one hit but no earned runs with two strikeouts, and sophomore Nisa Ontiveros struck out two in 2.1 innings with four hits and two runs.

Cal wraps up its season Saturday at 11:30 a.m. All five of Cal’s seniors will be honored in a pre-game ceremony, and the game will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks.
