Bears Fall To Stanford In MPSF Semifinals

LOS ANGELES – The fourth-seeded Cal’s women’s water polo team will play in the Third Place Game of the MPSF Championships after falling 13-6 to top-seeded Stanford in Saturday's semifinals at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center at USC.

The Bears (18-8) will meet sixth-seeded Arizona State at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Win or lose, Cal is expected to earn an NCAA Tournament at-large berth when the selections are announced Monday evening.

Freshman Dora Antal scored her 68th goal of the season Saturday, putting her one behind Emily Csikos for fifth place on Cal’s all-time single-season scoring list.

Fellow freshmen Anna Illes, Roser Tarrago and Emily Loughlin also scored for the Bears, as did juniors Michelle Caron and Tiera Schroeder.
