Cal football's new defensive coordinator Art Kaufman and women's basketball head coach Lindsay Gottlieb will appear on tonight's edition of Inside the Locker Room along with David Durden, the head coach of the 2014 men's swimming and diving NCAA champions and women's rowing head coach Dave O'Neill. Fans are invited to tune in to Cal’s weekly radio show on KGO AM 810 or online on TuneIn. The program will air on Monday each week from 7-8 p.m. through mid-April.
As the Cal football team begins its second week of spring ball, Kaufman will discuss how the defense is looking. Fan are invited to attend practice during the open practice dates on Wednesday, April 9 (3:30-6 p.m.), Saturday, April 12 (10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), Friday, April 18 (3:30-6 p.m.) and for the Cal Spring Football Experience on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. That can also be seen live on the Pac-12 Networks.
Gottlieb and the women's basketball team finished with an overall record of 22-10. The Bears lost to Baylor in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Durden and the Bears captured the 2014 NCAA Championship with 468.5 points while runner-up Texas totaled 417.5, and Durden was named NCAA Coach of the Meet. The program claimed its third national title in the past four years under Durden, following NCAA crowns in 2011 and 2012. The national title marks the Golden Bears' fifth overall NCAA title in men's swimming and diving
O'Neill and the top-ranked women's rowing team closed out a successful weekend at the San Diego Crew Classic with a first place finish in the second varsity eight grand final and two second-place finishes in the Collegiate 4+ and Collegiate Novice 8+ grand finals. O'Neill will also discuss the team's trip to Australia.
Hosted by Todd McKim, Inside the Locker Room features guests from throughout Cal Athletics. Listeners can expect to hear from student-athletes and coaches from Cal’s Olympic sports and others with Golden Bear ties will make regular appearances.
