BERKELEY – Cal baseball head coach David Esquer and senior shortstop Mike Reuvekamp will be among the featured guests as Golden Bear fans are invited to come to Orinda Theatre Square, Monday, Feb. 3 from 7-8 p.m. for the second of four special editions of Cal’s weekly radio show, Inside the Locker Room. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Esquer and Reuvekamp, as well as head basketball coaches Mike Montgomery and Lindsay Gottlieb with some of their players, plus softball coach Diane Ninemire with junior infielder Cheyenne Cordes.
The Inside the Locker Room program in Orinda can be heard live on KGO Radio 810 AM and online on TuneIn.
Orinda Theatre Square, just off Highway 24 east of the Caldecott Tunnel, features casual, yet upscale dining with a menu for every taste, as well as an eclectic blend of boutiques and health and beauty services. Fans can also check out all the latest movie releases at an iconic Bay Area theater. Some of the featured restaurants in the square include Piccolo Napoli, Serika Japanese Restaurant, Shelby’s Restaurant, Barbacoa Mexican Comfort Food, Table 24 Neighborhood Comfort Food and Lava Pit Hawaiian Grill.
The Inside the Locker Room set for the four Orinda appearances will be near Barbacoa Mexican Comfort Food. Fans are encouraged to make reservations ahead of time and reference “Inside the Locker Room” when making their reservation. Parking is available at the underground garage beneath the square.

Hosted by Todd McKim, Inside the Locker Room features guests from throughout Cal Athletics and airs through mid-April. During the winter months, listeners can expect to hear from Montgomery and Gottlieb each week. In addition, student-athletes and coaches from Cal’s Olympic sports and others with Golden Bear ties will make regular appearances.

Esquer, the 2011 National Coach of the Year, will be entering his 15th season guiding the Cal baseball program. The Bears open their 2014 campaign Feb. 14-16 hosting the University of Texas in a four-game series at Evans Diamond.
Senior shortstop Reuvekamp is a native of Orinda (Miramonte High School, Diablo Valley College) and has been a key player for Cal the past two seasons. In 2013, Reuvekamp produced three game-winning RBI for Cal – versus Michigan, Fresno State and Washington State – and finished the year batting .283 in 42 games with five doubles and 13 RBI.
Cal features 26 returners from last year’s squad and an impressive freshman class. The Bears have five members from the 2011 College World Series squad – seniors Devon Rodriguez, Kyle Porter, Vince Bruno and Michael Theofanopoulos, and junior Derek Campbell. The schedule for the 2014 Cal baseball team not only includes hosting Texas, but the Bears will also be hosting the Cal Baseball Classic at Evans Diamond with Arkansas, Tulane and San Francisco March 7-9, as well as Pac-12 series versus 2013 National Champion UCLA (March 14-16), Utah (March 28-30), Washington (April 17-19), 2013 CWS participant Oregon State (May 2-4) and 2012 National Champion Arizona (May 16-18).
Cal baseball fans should also make plans to attend the third annual Fan Fest, Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Evans Diamond. Following the Fan Fest festivities, there will be a Blue-Gold intrasquad scrimmage beginning at 1:30 p.m. for a preview of the 2014 Bears.
