Several Bears Set For World Rowing Championships

Chungju, South Korea – Several current and former members of the California men’s and women’s crew programs will compete in the 2013 World Rowing Championships Aug. 25-Sept. 2 in Chungju, South Korea.

Former Golden Bears Zach Vlahos (coxswain) and Nareg Guregian will represent the United States in the Men’s 8+. Kara Kohler, who will be a senior for the Bears this coming year, will row for the United States in the Women’s 4x. Former Cal standout Laurel Korholz, who has competed and coached in the Olympics, will serve as the Head Women’s Quadruple Sculls Coach for the United States.

Former Bear Will Dean and Spencer Crowley will compete for Canada in the Men’s 4- and the Men’s 2-, respectively. Iva Obradovic and Marko Marjanovic will represent Serbia in the World Rowing Championships, with Obradovic competing in the Women’s 2- and Marjanovic racing in the Men’s 2x.
